I am too much in love with my ex.
Not so much his mind as the memories,
And I have recently come to realize,
That if I were to ever break down,
Let my defenses crumble to the ground,
Succumb to sensations of the physical realm,
And wake once more in his warm embrace,
Then I will be doomed for all eternity,
Repeating an infinite loop in history.
Thus I keep myself at a distance;
We once were inseparable hot lovers,
Now barely more than acquaintances,
My shattered heart mourns the loss
Of the friendship of a great man.
