Perfect Shade

The following is a submission for Aisling Weaver's #FuckMeFriday prompt for May 20, 2011. To read more submissions, click [here]

"Do you know what color you want?" asked the sales lady as I stood, mesmerized, fingering the fine silk wedding gown that hung before me.

I smiled, "Yes. I want cream. But, not just any cream, no, I want the perfect shade." I closed my eyes, fingers rubbing and caressing the fabric, "I want the cream of her skin in the moonlight, when I pull her down into the grass by the lake. It offsets so well with the dark shadows and deep greens. I want the cream of her juices dried on my lips, a sweet tasting color bright against my cherry gloss. It looks as delicious then as when it is fresh, gushing across my tongue and dripping down my chin." I sighed, a ghost of the music she sings when we are alone. "I want the cream of her. I want it wrapping me as we say our vows, clinging to me when we kiss, and shed from me by her hands. It has to be that shade, the perfect shade, of cream."

She Caught Me By Surprise

She came out of nowhere,
Snuck right up under my radar:
A blinding beauty full of spunk,
A tiny package so delicate pale,
Appearing in a shimmer
As if stepping out of thin air.
Smoke grey smoldering eyes
Shine and spark blue in the light;
She captured me in their infinite depths,
Pulled me to my knees with just one look.
Oh how I long to worship at her feet,
This unearthly goddess of mine!

And goddess she is!
Wind-whipped flames tamed into a crown,
Her hair matching the color of her lips,
Kiss-bruised cherries brushed across her face,
Ripe and juicy like succulent sweet fruit,
A taste would surely do me in,
Drive me wild like the perfect drugged wine;
Is it truly possible to be drunk on her love?
Just one sup is all I want!

She took my breath from my chest,
Stole it all when she walked near;
Those lips parted and music spilled forth,
She paralyzed me as she spoke,
Her words honeyed venom coating my skin,
Suffocating me in desire.

Flashes and fantasies filled my mind,
Oxygen deprived daydreams of the hottest kind;
My goddess and I engulfed in lust,
Wrapped in the heat of each other,
Time crawling as seconds last years,
The canyon between our lips inching ever closed,
Oh to have one little nibble!
Just one bite!

The hunger eats at me,
Gnawing at my aching heart.
Her sight is set on another,
Someone I can never be;
Truth be told she and I are too much alike,
We're both 'one of the guys' kind of girls,
Destined to just be friends,
Partners of the platonic type.

Poolside Desire - Word Challenge: #Wet

She stood on the edge of the pool, bathed in sunlight, a blinding beauty; diamonds dusted her skin, clung stubbornly to her bikini, and dripped from her midnight hair. I had never had a desire to kiss another woman until that moment; previous experimentation seemed so distant, so empty. I wanted nothing more than to run my hands over her tanned skin, sweep up those glittering gems, and fashion a crown for my princess, my friend. I wanted to lick the droplets shining on her breasts, follow them into the shadows between. My body ached to rub against hers, to split the shimmering water between the two of us. All too soon her towel eclipsed the sun, dispersing the spell and dragging my attention back to reality: she was my friend, never would there be more. She called my name, asked if I were coming along; never have I been more grateful for a sunburn to hide my blush - I was soaking wet, and not just from the swim.

A Love Stained Letter

To the love of my life,

It has been years and yet it only seems days. I have loved you from the beginning, when your hand first grasped mine, and we walked along the river's edge. It was perfection born on my grandfather's farm. How readily I would have given myself to you had you but asked!

It took you awhile, but you finally did. When I slipped my chaperon, met you at the clearing near the stream, my heart soared. Our arms entwined, our lips locked, and I had my first taste of sweet passionate love. In my dreams at night, I return to that clearing; I can still feel the grass beneath my back, smell the jasmine growing wild, hear the water trickling by, and see the sunlight play across your face....

You stole my heart that day. Oh, I know it could never have lasted, not with the family name to upkeep, but to dream! I remember returning day after day to lay along the water's edge, yearning for you to join me. The delight when you arrived nearly overshadowing the work of your hands, the sweetness of your kisses, the head rush of pure bliss brought forth by your touch.

We parted amiably, though not forever. My engagement drove us apart, but quelled not my desires. Our secret has burned within my soul these long months. I sometimes sit here at my window and gaze at nothing, wishing we could be together again.

As I write this letter, I cry. Tomorrow I am to marry Richard, but there is no room in my heart for him. He will find out soon enough, and I pray that you are safe. As a final gift before I wed, I offer you my heart, the same that you unwittingly stole when we were but foolish girls dancing in the field. Do with it as you see fit while I attempt to build a life as Mrs. Whitmore and fill my empty chest with memories of marriage.

Forever Your Beloved Jewel,
Julia

On the day of her wedding, Julia's maid of honor made the gruesome discovery. Slumped over her writing desk, the bride-to-be, in a snow white sleeping gown, clutched the blooded dagger she had used to cut out her heart. The police declared her death a suicide, though no one could explain how she had managed to package her pulsing organ into a gift box. The tag on the box held no name of the intended recipient, so Julia's groom never knew that his beloved's heart belonged to his sister.

Lady By The Pool

Diamonds glint off her perfect tan,
Water gems glistening in the sun,
So shines the lady by the pool.
Hair darker than night soaked through,
Clinging and wrapping her body,
Resembling the lover I long to be.
Liquid brown eyes lined with kohl,
Deep pools of the most intoxicating kind,
If only their gaze were to take notice....
Perched so delicately in front of the lens,
My darling lady by the pool does pose,
Though she knows not yet of my desire....
