Ensalada Fresca

This is the result of a "check all the boxes" assignment in a Contemporary Pop Culture in Modern Poetry course I took to fulfill an English Arts elective. I did exactly that and got my 100% grade. I haven't yet decided how I want to edit this - or if I just want to leave it as clunky as it is. Either way, it was too fun not to share with the world.

A man's most prized appendage is a turtle head.
Cowled and collapsed at rest, snuggled in skin sleeping soundly,
visions of shelled dreams dance behind drooped lids.
Upon waking, a ravenous hunger takes hold, and with
tiny peanut brain, takes control of the entire male being.
Perked up, neck stretched straight and stiff,
it leads and guides, a divining rod for satisfaction,
bobbing and weaving, drunkenly staggering, to and fro,
finally fixating on the intoxicating sweet crisp scent of velvet greenery.
Cloying honey drenched tongue's memory,
Drool drips in anticipation,
                                        I licked it, so it's mine!
Echoing sound waves of Lyn's favorite statement surface
(she will get to say it next time, he promises)
and vibrate like a shiver over flesh, amplifying
appetite cravings to that of Thespiae's Colossal Eros.
Parting the leaves, the turtle burrows into the penetralia of the lettuce
seeking the treasure trove of heart, deep within the primal core.
Guttural grunts mingle with passionate moans as pleasure, mounts.
Falling, face first, into a dish, like creamed pie, has never been so grand!
The turtle's Adam's apple pulses, with desire, sated. Fed and full,
chin rests on pillow as slumber takes hold.

Nose Piercing

Tiny drops of gems:
Pain for the sake of beauty
Like rain on petals.

As a single tear
From Nature's own eye drop'ed,
Shed on Spring's flowers,

So lies the crystal,
Perched delicately on skin,
Glinting in the sun.

The Hunt

The following is a submission for Aisling Weaver's #FuckMeFriday prompt for May 27, 2011. To read more submissions, click [here]

She stands in my cross-hairs,
Innocent and naive,
Scarcely more than a fawn,
Unaware of the hunt...

The trap is set,
Time to pull the trigger,
Move in for the kill,
Another trophy for the wall.

My cock twitches at her gasp,
A blood tipped arrow shot deep;
My smile spreads wide,
Virgins are my favorite game.

Monday Afternoon

Sleep whispers my name:
On soft lulling waves of sound floats
My three o'clock crash.

An Angry Caress

I can feel your hand now,
The back of your fingers softly gliding down my cheek,
The heat of your anger radiating into my skin,
Fueling the fire burning beneath the surface:
Evidence of my shame brought forth.

Your hand travels a small trail but time stands still.
Your knuckles rake gently and my eyes flutter closed,
Anticipation boils under the shame...

Halfway now, I feel the tension bubble through your hand -
- A whimper threatens to tear out my throat -
Will you clench my chin? Will your palm grasp my hair?
Or will there be a bruise I need to cover come morning?

Your whore kneels before you, frozen in time,
A dirty slut reveling in your touch,
Waiting...

The back of your hand draws closer to the end of its short journey -
- A sob sears through my chest, begging for release -
The pain is imminent, I know,
I await the dreadful pleasure with baited breath.

A single tear flows in the wake of your hand,
Tracing the dead space and cooling the flame you leave;
I count the milliseconds until your touch disappears...

You will be rough and I hope for nothing less,
But just once I wish I knew why:
What injustice have I caused to deserve this punishment?

We're All Broken

We're all broken,
Jagged edges dulled by time,
Puzzle piece souls searching the world;
Desperate to be whole
We forego the bonds of love,
Seeking instead a sticky lust,
A liquid goo that tacks too quickly,
Crumbles around us all too soon.
Tattered clumps of temporary glue remain,
New baggage to claim,
Scars forever torn into our skin.

The Tide Rolls In - WankWednesday: #Tide

On the seas of lust
Hips rock ships, gentle waves build
'Til the tide rolls in.

She Caught Me By Surprise

She came out of nowhere,
Snuck right up under my radar:
A blinding beauty full of spunk,
A tiny package so delicate pale,
Appearing in a shimmer
As if stepping out of thin air.
Smoke grey smoldering eyes
Shine and spark blue in the light;
She captured me in their infinite depths,
Pulled me to my knees with just one look.
Oh how I long to worship at her feet,
This unearthly goddess of mine!

And goddess she is!
Wind-whipped flames tamed into a crown,
Her hair matching the color of her lips,
Kiss-bruised cherries brushed across her face,
Ripe and juicy like succulent sweet fruit,
A taste would surely do me in,
Drive me wild like the perfect drugged wine;
Is it truly possible to be drunk on her love?
Just one sup is all I want!

She took my breath from my chest,
Stole it all when she walked near;
Those lips parted and music spilled forth,
She paralyzed me as she spoke,
Her words honeyed venom coating my skin,
Suffocating me in desire.

Flashes and fantasies filled my mind,
Oxygen deprived daydreams of the hottest kind;
My goddess and I engulfed in lust,
Wrapped in the heat of each other,
Time crawling as seconds last years,
The canyon between our lips inching ever closed,
Oh to have one little nibble!
Just one bite!

The hunger eats at me,
Gnawing at my aching heart.
Her sight is set on another,
Someone I can never be;
Truth be told she and I are too much alike,
We're both 'one of the guys' kind of girls,
Destined to just be friends,
Partners of the platonic type.

As I Fall In Love

A butterfly lands
Atop a Spring fresh flower;
Flutters in my core.

Ecstasy Erupts

Tears rain down a cheek,
Pink Perfection a blushing river,
Water falling from deep brown pools,
Overflowing midnight madness
Streams past luscious ruby lips,
Splashing onto shoulders of a man
She never should have called.

Only Mother Mourns

Morning mist clings to the waters
Grey gauze draping the haunted eyes
Death's chill paints Frost's patterns
A pale so bright white on blue
Ice bursts shatter in minute detail
Fractal portraits in memorial
Shadows play under a sunless sky
A snowflake ballet of tears rains
Frozen daggers drip from the trees
Bloodless drops fall to the ground
Lifeless lies the beggar here
Winter's victim only Mother mourns

A Sports Bra Haiku

Dull tiny teeth nip
Tender delicate silk skin;
Flesh caught in zipper.

Breaking Celibacy

Dust settles as the wind blows
O'er an ocean eons forgotten;
Bare, desolate, arid,
The sands of time linger here.

Tread lightly with thy step
For the ground is hungry
And the sand quick to swallow,
Eager to replenish what it has lost.

Brittle bones crack under soft touch,
The sun-bleached needles prick fore'er deep;
You gasp in recoil too slow
While blood flows in long rivers down pale skin.

Parched earth drinks red life,
Pulling heart and soul through hollow veins,
Mineral deposits awaken and gorge,
Your dying breath seals gaping fissures.

Once neglected, now well nourished,
I lay beside your sleeping form,
Sated with pleasure I purr contented;
You are forever mine to love.

Breadcrumbs

I've lost myself t'you,
Dropped my pieces here and there,
Breadcrumbs cast through time.

Another Sleepless Night

She sees the bills come in the mail,
Feels the worry and the stress;
She wonders how she will make it alone.
Four mouths to feed ask 'Mamma what's wrong?'

She knows the price she must pay.
She closes her heart and opens her door.
Another soul lost in the dark,
Another sleepless night with little gain

Head in her hands she weeps away her pains,
Bruises lay hidden from sight;
She wonders what this night will bring.
Innocent eyes cry 'Mamma what's wrong?'

She knows this is the price she must pay.
She closes her heart and opens her door.
Another soul lost in the dark,
Another sleepless night with little gain.

Helpless to fight she screams again,
Pinned beneath his weight,
She wonders if she will survive the night.
Little voices echo through her mind, 'Mamma what's wrong?'

She knew the price she must pay
when she closed her heart and opened her door.

Children sleep across town snuggled in bed,
Prayers said down on little knees,
Four voices in unison sang out:
'Keep Mamma safe tonight'

Another soul lost in the dark,
Another sleepless night with little gain.

The Artist

A Black Cloud Holds Her Heart

Hollow is the smile on crimson lips,
Empty eyes rest atop dark pillows,
Stiff shoulders heavy with burden;
A lifeless shell wanders aimlessly,
Practiced motions of the day-to-day,
A black cloud holds her heart.

Such A Haunted Soul I Have

Such a haunted soul I have,
I call your name to the night,
But get no reply in the dark;
Were you just a dream?

I am lost without your light,
Running in circles and hitting walls,
My feet walk unknown ground;
Were you ever here?

The ghost of a memory lingers,
A fading dream as I wake,
The intangible whispers to my brain;
Were you really mine?

My sanity is questioned every day,
Reality crumbles at the edges;
Our time together gone so long,
Do I taunt you as well?

Our Sunset

Muted tones of muddy browns and rusted reds,
Dusk dawns across the sky,
Brilliance explodes before my eyes,
Light of the sun flickers down,
A dying flame licking low...

Close your eyes and sleep well,
Goodnight my darling, my love.
My tears fall and splash the ground;
Silence holds my hand,
A lingering ghost of you.

Petals On The Water

I had written this to give to a friend, but I'm not sure if this is the right time. Maybe in a few weeks or months when the grief isn't so fresh. Maybe never*. Dedicated to his love, may she rest in peace.

* I had written it before I knew she had drowned. Talk about feeling like an inconsiderate and insensitive bitch....

Like petals on the water
life drifts on by,
lazily floating yet rushing so fast
upset in one loud splash.

The gentle hand of God guides
a soft breeze lifting velvet sails,
dancing flowers by the stream,
beauty blooms young and bright.

Tender words through our bodies speak,
murmurs of love whisper by the moon;
a rose picked and finger pricked,
stained stems like jaded souls.

By the creek a is rock thrown,
the man's heart shattered with grief,
waves wash the shore at his feet,
capsizing rose petals drown in tears.

We are petals on the water
adrift in the salty liquid,
the stone has been cast,
remember me when the waves roll in.
