The Escape Attempt

This is only a beginning...or a middle...of a larger story in my head. But it has been awhile since I have shared anything, I figured I would let this snippet see the light of day. Please enjoy!

Crunch-unch Crunch.

Crunch-unch Crunch.

Crunch-unch Crunch.

Sophie's heart beat frantically as the limping steps drew closer to her. Each boot fall landed in the icy snow in a distinct pattern letting her know which guard tracked her. She knew she would never really escape but she had to try.

Crunch-unch Crunch.

The frozen ground had offered Sophie a small head start without leaving a trail of footprints the night before. But she knew she wouldn't get far being barefoot.

Crunch-unch Crunch.

There were plenty of foxholes and hollow trees and bushes on the property. But without more than her nightgown and a jacket she swiped from a closet, she knew she wouldn't survive on her own long.

Crunch-unch Crunch.

She had huddled down where a fawn had pressed some bramble vines flat and slept fitfully overnight. When she woke, a soft layer of snow had accumulated.

Crunch-unch Crunch.

Sophie knew if she left her hiding spot, she would be found quickly. Her only option, then, would be to stay where she was and hope to make a run the next night.

Crunch-unch Crunch.

But the temperatures had to be near freezing, if not lower. Her safe haven may have helped shield her from the wind, but it would do nothing to keep her warm. Her fingers and toes were already numb.

Crunch-unch Crunch.

The guard, a gruff burly man, appeared several yards away. He stopped between two trees and surveyed the brush. Sophie held her breath, afraid he would be able to see the cloud erupting from between her lips.

The man was close enough that Sophie could see his scowl when he yelled out, "I know you're out here. If you come on your own, I will make sure you are fed and warm before the master gets his hands on you."

Food. Sophie's stomach flipped at the thought of having something more than frozen water. When she ran, she had not stopped to think through grabbing anything to eat. Her only focus was on getting out of the house and as far away as possible.

Crunch-unch Crunch.

The guard moved a few feet closer.

"What will it be, little one? A turkey sandwich with a bowl of soup? Or straight to the master?"

Crunch-unch Crunch.

Sophie knew the punishment for an escape attempt. She would be chained and beaten. Food would be limited to a bare basic diet to keep her alive. She would be lucky to get rice and broth; Alice had told her about it when she first woke up in the cage.

Crunch-unch Crunch.

A shiver raced across her entire body. The cold had finally penetrated the cocoon she had made. Her teeth began to chatter.

Crunch-unch Crunch.

"P-p-please?" she whimpered, squeezing her eyes shut.

Crunch-unch Crunch. Crunch-unch Crunch.

"Little one," the man growled, "come out."

Sophie opened her eyes to see the guard's boots just outside her hiding spot. She whimpered and begged once more, "P-p-please? Y-y-you p-p-promise food?"

"Only if I don't have to drag you out," he responded.

She looked up to find him staring right at her. Shaking, she uncurled her body, letting the giant jacket drag on the ground as she slowly crawled on her hands and knees out of the bramble. The ground cover had been flattened by animals but the bush itself still sported all the barbs and thorns on the vines. They bit into her jacket and grabbed her hair.

It seemed like an eternity before Sophie was free. She remained on the ground, her head lowered with her face inches from the guard's boots. Her body quaked from fear as much as the cold.

"Such a stupid thing to do, little one," the guard murmured. He bent down and scooped her into his arms. He cursed at how cold the skin of her face was against his neck. "Why would you do this to yourself?" He asked, though it was more to himself than directed at her.

"I-I w-would r-rather d-d-die," she stammered, "than b-be s-sold."

"You very nearly did," he returned as he tucked her tighter into his chest. Cursing, he stopped for a moment to unzip his own coat. She was tiny enough he could slide her against his chest and almost zip up his thick winter coat. It would offer his body warmth as well as the slight extra layer of fabric and feather.

Crunch-unch Crunch.

The guard slowly moved away from her hiding space.

Crunch-unch Crunch.

Sophie could hear the steady beat of his heart. The combination of the new warmth, soothing heartbeat, and gentle sway of his gait was too much for her.

Crunch-unch Crunch.

Crunch-unch Crunch.

She would likely die soon. But for now, she would soak up the comforts while she could.

Crunch-unch Crunch.

She drifted off to sleep in his arms.

Behind Closed Doors (pt 2)

Saturday morning sunlight filtered through the bedroom window, the delicate light first illuminating an empty bed, then a couple entwined in a loving embrace on the plush carpet. June stirred at the incessant prodding of the orange glow and gently disentangled herself from her husband. She sat and stretched and watched Russel sleep for a few minutes before she stood and picked up hastily discarded and, to her dismay, ripped clothing. She frowned as she tossed the brand new shirt in the waste basket on her way to the shower.

The spray of water stung as it struck tender new carpet burns, but the heat dissipated the pain to a mere discomfort. After she was clean, June stood under the water and stared at the slate wall. The usually warm combination of muted green tones and the golden veins were instead lost in the cold grey stone. A chill flittered across June's skin as she thought back to the day it was chosen.

The sales clerk at the local Floor & Tile Warehouse had left the couple standing in the aisle to place the Garret's entire remodel order for delivery, so no one was near to see him pull her close against his hips and slip one hand around her body and into the front waistband of her skirt. There were no witnesses as he slipped his fingers past the soft curls between her legs and gently entered her wet and ready pussy.

"This, my sweet," his gruff voice fell to her ear, "to whom does it belong?"

Working to control her breathing, June whispered her reply, "You, Sir."

"Good girl," Russel kissed her neck as he increased the pressure from his hand. June began to whimper.  "Quietly," he chided; June clenched her jaw. Her orgasm was short but still turned her legs limp. Russel chuckled into her ear, "I love that almost as much as I love you, my Pet." He held her upright for a few moments until she could stand again, and then removed his hand. She was slightly unsteady, but leaned against her husband in what she hoped would look like a normal embrace.

Russel hugged her close with one arm and reached up to run his wetted fingers across her lips. June smiled and licked him clean. He then pushed a stray lock of hair behind her ear before pulling a simple brown envelope from his pocket. It had been folded and creased neatly to fit, unnoticed, next to the pen at his breast.

"I think it is time to give you your gift. Happy anniversary, my Pet."

June was confused. Russel had led her to believe the house remodel was her gift: the larger bathroom with its custom shower, the new guest bedroom add-on, the old guest bedroom to craft-space conversion, and the new bedroom balcony.... She gingerly took the envelope and carefully unfolded it. Inside was a single sheet of paper: a folded drawing. It was a scaled down version of the plans for the upstairs guest bedroom conversion, but it was different than what the contractor had on display. She stared at it, trying to make sense of what was different.

Tears filled her eyes as she realized what it was, and they seeped into her voice when she looked up at her husband, "Oh, Sir! Do you mean it?"

"Yes, my Pet." The plans for the new nursery crumpled between them as he hugged her tight.

June dried her tears with the bath towel. She looked at her reflection in the steam streaked mirror. With sunken eyes and slumped shoulders, she looked defeated and older than her thirty years.

"There's no point in crying," she scolded herself, "There are other options. We can still do this." Her hands drifted down to her stomach and an ache filled her chest. "Well, it may not everything we wanted, but we can't give up." One final tear fell down her cheek, and then she squared her shoulders and took a deep breath. Her internal pep-talk would have to do for now. She still had a house to keep tidy and a husband to please.

Imaginary Friend - Pt 0

Bright, unfiltered sunlight flooded the room, warming Diane's skin to nearly unbearable levels. The bed upon which she lay was cool, covered in white sheets, bleached so bright they were blinding as the sun's rays reflected from them. She tried to close her eyes and sink into the bed, but the light was too bright and the bed rejected her. The mattress became stiff, solid, and unyielding to her pressing shoulders. The sun jumped closer and all she could see was the red skin behind her eyelids. All she could feel was her burning flesh, her body was on fire. She screamed as a solar flare erupted, lashing her stomach, clinging to her belly.

"Call the doctor! Her water has broken!"

"Something's wrong, she's bleeding!"

"Get her husband out of here, now!"

Another solar flare flew down, doubling the strand of lit fire grasping her stomach. Off in the distance, Diane could hear voices, but she could not make out their words. Her screams drowned them out as she fought to escape the sun.

With every breath she struggled to intake, the sun's grip on her body increased. Her legs were burned and her belly branded when she gave up. She opened her eyes and let the light consume her.

"Doctor!" A nurse screamed as Diane's monitor flat-lined. The baby had been born breech and was not breathing. The loss of the child would be heart breaking for the father, but the loss of both his wife and daughter?

Just as the doctor had given up hope and declared time of death for Diane, the newborn took her first solo breath and wailed.

Imaginary Friend - Synopsis

Annabelle was a normal child, carefree and energetic, always searching for her next big adventure, but she was always sad. Annabelle's mother died during childbirth and her father never remarried.

Oh, there were girlfriends, those that wanted Annabelle to call them 'stepmother', but she hated them all. Gloria was too comforting, Ashliegh too harsh, Delilah too blonde, and Clarissa too much her own age. Instead of counting on her father to pick a replacement mother, Annabelle created one.

This story follows Annabelle and her imaginary friend. But she is not a normal imaginary friend; as a young child, Annabelle creates a mother figure, but as she grows older, her pretend mother grows younger.

Behind Closed Doors (pt 1)

Russel buried his head in his hands as his wife reached an arm across his back. The doctor excused himself and slipped quietly from the room, leaving the pair to grieve their loss. For two years, the Garrets had tried to conceive their first child but to no avail. The test results crumpled in Russel's hand explained clearly why: he was sterile.

The pamphlets Dr. Wong had pushed across his desk glared up at June. Smiling men and women with newborn babies plastered their covers, each offering a different and expensive option to fix the problem at hand. She turned her head into her husband's shoulder and wept. She cried, not for the news, but because her husband, her Master, was hurting and she could do nothing to ease his pain. She had feared it was her fault, thought that she was barren, but never did it occur to her that there was something wrong with him.

After a silent drive home, Russel spent the remainder of the day pressed deep in his recliner, whiskey in hand, watching June as she wandered from room to room, tidying. He sat in contemplative silence as she cooked dinner, set the table, and served a full four course meal for two. It was only after the table had been cleared, the kitchen had been cleaned, and the bed covers were pulled back that he spoke.

"I release you from our bond." His gravelly voice startled his wife. She froze, blouse buttons trapped between long, graceful fingers.

"Sir," she whispered, frightened, "What have I done to displease you?" She fought to keep her head bowed, but not to hide the quiver in her voice.

Russel moved around the bed and wrapped his arms tightly around his wife's body. Pain radiated through his words, "Displease me? No, never My Pet!" He buried his face in her hair, inhaled deeply the scent of wildflowers and honey. The knife of ultimate loss twisted in his gut; he did not deserve to own such a sweet little pet if he could not give her everything her heart desired and her heart, as well as his, cried out for a child.

His lips burrowed until they met her ear. A gentle kiss atop the elf-like tip preceded his whispered reasoning, "If I cannot provide for you, then you should be free. Free to find another owner, another husband, another..." his voice caught. "Another to father your children."

June tensed in his embrace. She closed her eyes, took a deep, shaky breath, and turned to face her husband. She pulled away, disengaged his arms, and stepped back from him. Her reply came in one word, formed firmly between her perfect lips, with a force she had never exerted when speaking to Russel. "No."

Relief washed over his face as he sank down to his knees. His tall form bowed as his arms, outstretched, grasped for her waist. She was lost when he clung to her, pulled her near, sobbing, "Forgive me, My Pet, forgive me!"

June stood still as her husband wailed and begged, confused as to what to do. She had never seen him break down, had never seen him show an ounce of weakness. He was always in control, always hidden behind a mask of indifference.

"Oh, My Pet," his voice broke through his tears, rougher with emotion and painfully pleasant to her ears. She reached down to smooth his hair out of his face. Her soft fingertips brushed aside his black hair as she shushed soothingly. Russel's lips, pressed against her shirt, left off mumbling and began trailing kisses over her belly.

It took little coaxing for Russel to pull June to her knees, his kisses traveling up as she lowered. Salt-stained lips captured her mouth; she tasted his need before she felt him press against her thighs.

The emotional drain of the day left him hungry for her in a way he had never felt before. A desperation filled his soul; years of skill lost with the crumbling of his inner sanctum. His hands fumbled at her clothing as if he were a teenage boy again. Awkward movements gave rise to momentary frustration, peaking with torn fabric and a triumphant growl. June gasped when his needy aggression spilled her backwards onto the carpet, his weight falling atop her body. He took her quickly, quietly devouring her moans as he thrust deep.

Russel gave one last push and spilled himself deep within her core. His tears continued to stream down his cheeks, splashing and rolling down her face. He buried his face in June's neck, arms still wrapped underneath her body, cock still nestled in her warmth. He could barely feel her trembling hands stroke down his back or hear her tender murmurs.

What seemed like hours passed before he rolled sideways, pulling her partly off the carpet as he rested on his back. "My Pet," he whispered, "I love you."

Tales Of Miss Doom - Leaving For Vacation

There was much traffic up and down the stairs; pounding footfalls refused to let the sleeping cat sleep. Little calico tabby ears flicked constantly, shooing away the thump of each step.

After ten minutes of fitful rest, Miss Doom lifted her head to investigate the commotion. Set to voice her displeasure, she opened her mouth and eyes simultaneously, only to freeze, stock still, at the sight before her eyes: her humans were carrying travel bags and pillows down to the front door.

Instantly awake, her fur fluffed as she flew off the couch, jumping immediately atop the first bag she could reach. It was not luck that it happened to still be open - it was her pet's habit to finalize his packing moments before walking out the door.

Into the open bag she crawled, squeezing effortlessly between a stack of shirts and a pair of rolled jeans. With ill-hid anger, she glared at her pet and his mate as they came down the stairs again. The girl came first and, predictably, made a soothing noise at Miss Doom.

Frustrated that advances in science fell short of translating human sounds into recognizable speech patterns, she flicked her tail and flattened her ears. As the two bent near, she jumped and hissed, "This is NOT acceptable! You are NOT allowed to leave!"

Unable to suppress her anger, and afraid she would lash out and strike her precious pets, Miss Doom ran quickly behind the nearest piece of furniture to sulk. She turned her back on her humans as the front door opened, closed, and the lock clicked.

She did not fear they would run away, nor did she worry for their safety; simply, she disliked being left behind and missed the added warmth in the bed at night.

As the sounds of their engine died into the distance, she crept out of her hiding spot and slunk off to the kitchen to drown her problems with a smidge of hidden cream.

Tales Of Miss Doom - The Ward

He awoke sometime in the mid-morning. He had scarfed down breakfast, ate until some kibble came back up, then gorged on more. Miss Doom trained her humans well, he thought, They leave me plenty of food. But as he sat staring at the self-refilling gravity feeder, he realized he was no longer hungry. Instead, he was bored. It was a boredom so deep that the thought of more kibble did not quell his idle mind.

He sat back on his haunches and studied his paw. Grey fur filled his face, blinding him to the mess of kibble-explosion on the floor. Hmm, clean. No bath needed. But what to do? He questioned himself, pondering all the activities he did daily. Eating had lost its luster, bathing was a chore for his eighteen pounds of fluff, he had no desire to dig his favorite ball from under the couch, and the male human was not home to attack. His options were limited. Then he had a mischievous spark and smirked.

Miss Doom lay curled atop a piece of partly shredded paper. She was not asleep, merely thinking, envisioning her thoughts as reality. The house was quiet, perfect for a bit of relaxing contemplation. Her eyes drifted to the holes and shreds in the paper, her code tapped out by tooth and fang. It was only a rough draft, the fourth revision this week. She found a flaw, not in the words, but in the plan itself. She sighed as she sat up, her tail wrapping around her legs.

He crouched, watching her back. He rolled his shoulders and twitched his tail, silent. Today is the day, he told himself as he braced for launch. This would not be the first attempt at a sneak attack, but it would also not be the first successful surprise attack, either. As a cat, he had stealth, but he was young and still needed practice with surprise. Twice last week he had caught her off guard. She had not been as thrilled as he, but he did not let that deter him from trying again.

He released the air from his lungs, cleared his mind, and jumped...

...right into her swinging tail. She had spun so quickly he had no chance to escape landing on her paper after a harsh tail thrashing. Her teeth sank into his ear as he skid by, stopping only when his bulky weight slammed into the back cushion of the couch.

Children! she shrieked internally. They ruin everything and make it so difficult to plan world domination!

Aloud, she chided him on his poor timing and even poorer placement. Her soft voice rang clear, "Sampson! If you had bothered to bathe, or at least decided to stand downwind, then you might have had a better shot." Her tail thumped the couch, the only visible indication of her annoyance.

The overlarge juvenile kitten bowed before her was not her offspring; somewhere along the way, after adopting her human and allowing him a mate, she somehow managed to find herself in charge of a stray puffball. She remembered what it was like to be orphaned and let him stay, although after attempting to train him, she was beginning to give up on having an able apprentice. This thought flitted through her mind once more, turning her stern visage into that of a disappointed teacher.

He cowed, mewled his apologies, and slunk off to his hiding space beneath the bed, presumably to bathe and sulk. She looked down at her paper once more and her frown deepened. Such potential, and yet such destructive tendencies. She pushed her ruined notes onto the floor, her mood spoiled for plotting to take over the world.

Tales Of Miss Doom - Chasing The Sun

She awoke when the first bird chirped in the predawn glow. After wondering if it would be worth a fruitless hunt to find the critter, she unfurled herself and stretched. The bedroom was still dark and the pillow was cozy and warm. But it was losing warmth now that fresh air had settled between her belly and the blanket; it was time to chase the sun.

Silently she jumped from the bed, landing into a slow sauntering gait down a path leading to the open bedroom door. She yawned as she walked, sparing no time to chance a stop.

The bird chirped louder as more birds awoke to answer his call. If I could find them... she thought to herself as she began her descent down the single flight of stairs. Oh, who am I kidding? I like their warnings of the approaching light!

At the bottom step, she looked around. The room was brighter, but the sun had yet to reach the window. Yes, plenty of time to enjoy breakfast, she thought, pleased. She glanced around once more, watching for any other creatures that might be present, and, upon finding none, she darted past the couch, down the hall, and out into the garage. She slipped past the sleeping mice and stepped into a box.

Less than a minute later she was scraping litter, Not bad, almost a new record. Note to self: less water before bed. I don't need to waste more time before the sun shines down. With the last push of her paw, she returned down the hall, but turned into the kitchen. Her food remained where she had left it, and was even undisturbed. She smiled as she started to nibble, I should really give those grey things a treat. They make wonderful pets when trained properly.

The chittering outside the window grew louder as she sat eating. She flattened her ears to dampen the annoyance, but could not completely ignore the incessant noise. She took a long drink of water to wash down her Kitty Kibble and lifted her head to the back door window. Her entire back yard was full of birds, some small, some large, and many different sizes in between. She huffed and her tail swatted back and forth. They speak gibberish! At least those grey things can be taught to speak! More fluttered down from the trees and landed in the shadows of the fence.

Shadows of the fence? That means.... She turned toward the living room and her large comfortable couch. THERE! YES! Above the couch, a few feet up the wall, was the bright spot that promised warmth. Quick calculations indicated it would meet the couch at a slight ten-degree angle, counter-clockwise from its current position. She jumped up onto the back of the couch in the exact location she predicted the sunlight to land and stretched out to achieve the maximum potential of the free heat.

Her math was correct and the sun landed directly across her midsection, fanning outward the proportional dimensions of the east facing window. She closed her eyes, smiling, and napped.

As with every sun-filled day, she spent the rest of the morning rolling with the sun, basking in the warm light.

Tales Of Miss Doom - The Moth

This story is dedicated to the memory of Pandora, our "Kitten Of Doom"
November 1996 - July 2010

She was lost. This area was wrong, all wrong. The sunlight filtered funny and the air...the air was stale. No, not stale, it just tasted odd as it filled her mouth. There was something blocking her escape, as well. She knew she had come from the south, but there was something strange keeping her from returning. And it was quiet. Too quiet for comfort; she could not hear her people, the breeze through the trees, or the birds chirping. Nothing. The only noise filling her head was the sound of her blood pumping too rapidly, the thump of her body hitting the invisible wall, and her wings blowing the still air over her tiny body.

Hope drained as realization sank in that she was forever trapped, never again to see her family. Her altitude dropped slowly, as she contemplated the implications of being taken from those that loved her. As she lowered, she learned the invisible wall grew out of a plank of wood, ashen, from...a fire? It smelled different than burned wood, but maybe that was the effect of the strange thing growing? There were many altering symbiotic lifeforms, could it be possible she, a simple little moth, stumbled across a new species? Before excitement could bubble too high, her world went black. She was dead before she could feel the wetness of the tongue that slurped her out of the air.

That tongue belonged to another creature who had been watching the moth dance. This creature had had many thoughts of her own as she watched the moth flit around the door, one of which was a self inquiry of whether the little buzzy thing would taste good.

Yes, she told herself, it was reasonably tasty, if not a little dry. Her ears remained perked, vigilant for any more curious snacks. Upon finding none, she yawned, fangs glinting in the dying sunlight filtering through the front door window. They will be home soon. I should prepare for their arrival.

Languidly she sauntered off across the sun-warmed tile, her toes stretching and clawing into the edge of the carpet. Her back arched and her tail whipped over her head. She lithely jumped onto the soft cushy couch and perched to survey her domain. She was queen and rightfully pampered. She smiled, fur parting across her face, lifting her white whiskers. No other cat can be as happy as I, she purred. She then curled up in a little Calico-Tabby ball to await the return of her pet humans.

Untitled (pt 1)

Ahksana awoke to a face full of sunshine. It took her a minute to roll over to look at the alarm clock. She groaned, not just from the pain, but from the early hour proudly proclaimed in green: it was barely ten thirty in the morning. A splitting headache made loud protests as she attempted to sit up. She sat still, with her head in her hands, until the room stopped spinning. With eyes half closed, she stumbled off the king-size bed and into the adjoining bathroom. She struggled with the decision to turn on the light, ultimately flicking the switch up to help aid her search for aspirin.

As soon as the bright bulbs lit, her head screamed in agony. Softly cursing the pain, Ahksana fumbled over the counter top, opening each medicine bottle her hands grasped. She finally found the right bottle and popped four small white pills into her mouth. As she did so, she caught a glimpse of movement in the mirror. She froze, pills lodged halfway down her throat. She sputtered and gagged, reached for a glass and blindly filled it with water. She watched the woman in the mirror follow her movements, slowly lift her glass to her mouth as Ahksana did. She gulped down the mouthful of water at the fearful realization: the battered and bruised woman was truly her reflection. Tears welled to the surface of her eyes as she set the glass back on the counter. Tentatively, she raised her hands up to trace the black fist mark that marred her fair skin, the cause of the massive headache. It stretched fully across one cheek and from the bottom of her chin to the bottom of her left eye. The angry red cut at the top of the bruise, left by his ring, managed to brighten her already watery blue eyes.

Her sight blurred from the tears, the full memory of the night before playing once more through her mind. She knew better than to refuse him, especially when he had been drinking, but the thought of bedding him after he had forced her to watch as he took a willing Celest to his bed....

Celest lay satisfied, smiling lazily at Ahksana, thrilled she looked sick. Though Celest enjoyed being rubbed in Ahksana's face, she despised being thrown out of the room. Ahksana would have rather traded her places; instead she was cornered shortly after Celest's departure.

Ahksana feared the man she called her husband. She learned to be afraid the day he took her from her parents all those years ago in the Czech Republic. She knew he was evil from the beginning, when he held her arm in his grasp and killed her parents in cold blood. She found out just how evil he could be the first night he raped her. In all the years since, he had not let her forget her slave status.

When he had tossed Celest out the door, dressed in nothing but her stage heels, Ahksana knew there was nothing she could do. She was alone with him. She backed away from the bed, slowly sunk into the shadows; a small thought flittered through her mind, giving her hope that she may escape his attentions if he were already satiated from Celest and as drunk as he appeared.  But her thin light of hope vanished as she struck the wall with a noticeable thump, snapping his hungry eyes directly to her half naked body.

She had not been allowed to change after working the stage at Europa, the high end gentlemen's club her husband owned. Her costume, by the end of the night, consisted only of gold, seven inch platform heels that strapped up to her knees, a brown leather thong with a mini-frill skirt, studded leather wristcuffs, and two leather ribbons: one worn as a choker, the other wrapped in her hair. Her lack of clothing made her feel more vulnerable, which fed his desire to feast upon her soft skin.

His advance blocked the doorway to the hall, but the cornered vixen is always alert for an escape from the hound. She knew he was enjoying her fear from the proud bob of his growing member; he was still nude and his rather rotund and repulsive figure was highlighted by Celest's juices. Ahksana's eyes darted around the room and found her solution: if she moved carefully, slowly, he might not notice as she made her way around to the bathroom door. For every one of his steps toward her, Ahksana made a half-step shuffle to her left, hands still behind her back, running along the wall.

Determined to make her escape, and too focused on watching her husband, Ahksana did not notice the scrap of Celest's discarded clothing that she tripped over. She did not fall, but she stumbled and turned into the wall to catch herself. She was only a few feet away from the bathroom door, and in her mind she knew if she were to make a quick dash, she would be free until he slumped in a drunken stupor. Her near fall pulled her husband out of his tunnel vision hunt; he realized she had been trying to slip away and his anger surfaced. He lengthened his steps and caught Ahksana seconds after her stumble. Her body was pinned to the wall beneath his, with her arms outstretched above her where they landed when she turned. Her frill of a skirt gave no protection against the very obvious and disgustingly sticky erection pressed quite firmly against her. Her wrists were held in his large and balmy hands, while his unshaven cheek rubbed down the right side of her face.

His rough German voice, breath reeking of cigar and alcohol, reverberated through her head, his mouth barely above her ear, "My pet thinks she can run away? How stupid can she be? Where can she go?"

Desperation to get away gave her strength. Instead of falling limp, her usual response, Ahksana struggled against his grasp, bucking back at him with her shoulders. She grit her teeth and forced her words to not betray her fear. Her sweet voice escaped her painted lips in a thick Czech accent, laden with ice, "Every pet runs free in the end. How long do you really think you can keep me?"

He transferred both of her hands under his left fist and ran his right hand gently down her cheek, under her chin, and further still to the tender skin trapped by the wall. Her struggles became more intense as she tried to jerk away from his traveling hand. "I will never let you go. Even after all these years, you still give me pleasure to own."

Ahksana turned her face back over her shoulder, facing him the best she could in her position. Her face distorted in revulsion, his very firm penis offering a contrast to the bulging soft body pinning her. "All you own is what you take by force! I curse you, Boris!" She ended her angry burst by spitting in his face.

Boris pulled back in surprise, his left hand still gripping her wrists. She arched back, trying to keep her balance, attempting to twist out of his grasp - the bathroom door was so close!

With her wriggling in his grasp, and with her spit still dripping fresh on his cheek, he pulled his hand back and hit the defiance off her face. The force of the blow knocked her to to the floor, the pain bringing tears to her eyes. She cowered in a crumpled heap, her left hand trembling as it tentatively held her cheek. Her chance at freedom for the night was gone, she was trapped. But just as the vixen cornered by the hunting hound, she refused to give in. She gathered herself and crawled backwards, stumbling with a newly broken heel.

He walked toward her and glared down at her with a mix of anger and hunger dredged across his pitted face. She once again hit the wall as he towered over her, his bulk appearing twice as large from her position on the floor. He reached down and grabbed her by the hair, pulling a fist full out of the leather tie. Ahksana was dragged to her feet and held firmly against his bear-like furry body by one arm, Boris' right hand still clenching her hair. He pulled back on her head, straining her neck, forcing her to look him in the face. In his native tongue, he snapped down at her, "Bitch! Worthless good for nothing bitch! I will have obedience from you yet!" His mouth came down hard on her mouth, forcing her lips to open for his tobacco flavored intruding tongue; his left thumb hooked through the frilly excuse for a skirted thong and ripped the thin fabric away, disrobing Ahksana completely. Boris's hand groped greedily at her bare flesh, kneading her skin with his rough hand, and grasping her tight against his grinding hips as he began to fuck the space between their bodies.

Ahksana, with her head still pulled back, could barely breathe. She supressed her instincts to struggle for fear of snapping her own neck. In her mind she knew there was no use; she was trapped. She fell pliant in his arms; she submitted to her defeat.

Boris growled when her struggle ended and dove deeper into her reluctant mouth. His right hand released her hair and wrapped around the back of her neck, possessively cradling her to his face. His left arm scooped her thin frame up against his large body. He grunted with the effort, but showed no other signs of being out of shape. He crossed the small bedroom and threw her onto the bed. Ahksana let out a cry of pain as she landed on the old matress; springs dug into her skin, slick with the night's earlier activities.

Released from his grasp, the urge to run returned. Ahksana stumbled backwards on her elbows while her shoes caught no traction on the lumpy cushions; her broken shoe marked her retreat with freshly poked holes in the fabric. Boris chuckled, a deep gutteral reverberation that sent chills down Ahksana's spine. She stiffened and halted her crawl. She knew what came next, and had learned that it was best to succumb to his wishes, no matter how disgusting or degrading.

She lay propped on her elbows and stared in horror as he pumped himself in anticipation; his large hand wrapped around his rather thick appendage and consumed the length, the grotesque display resembling a fat toad trying in vain to lick its nose. The sudden thought of imagery did nothing to quell the trembling that took hold of her as he moved forward onto the bed. With his free hand, he reached out and slid his rough calluses up her right leg. He parted her legs and crawled between them, still obscenely stroking his stiff, stump-like erection. She lay back and closed her eyes as he drew nearer.

He covered her, snarling his triumph as he entered her. She gulped down a cry and bit her lower lip, her eyes squeezed tight. Boris bucked atop her, roughly groping her body with his large hands. She rolled her head to the side in an attempt to escape his alcoholic breath, but only managed to draw his attention to her face. While still thrusting to the beat only he could hear, Boris reached down and grabbed Ahksana's chin and twisted her neck to face him. He pulled her head off the mattress and panted, "Look at me, bitch! Such disrespect to ignore me!" An audible sob escaped her throat as she slowly opened her eyes. He smiled down at her, a menacing evil smile. His movements increased in both tempo and force, causing the tears to finally run down her bruised face. She turned her head once more to stare across the room, her body shaking from the crying as well as the man atop her.

He finished with one final push, his growl of pleasure echoing throughout the room. He pulled out and away from Ahksana and collapsed on the mattress beside her. Ahksana, too ashamed and bruised to move, half rolled onto her side and let the tears fill her vision completely.

Those tears were the same tears that met her eyes in the mirror. She had cried herself to sleep the night before, she knew, but Ahksana had no recollection of Boris leaving. She was thankful he had not bothered her when he had left; there were nights he was relentless and would not give her much rest.

She knew he had no real emotion for her; he thought of her as simply his property, a vessel to carry children and bear him sons. A piece of chattel. A brood mare. She had been fortunate to have survived without becoming pregnant, but she also feared that the longer she stayed, the less likely she would remain lucky.

Ahksana dried her tears with a washcloth. She had to get away. She would figure the details out later, but the knowledge that she would one day be free gave her the strength to pull herself together mentally. With a clearing mind, she showered, gently cleansing herself of Boris' rough possession.

Battle scars. She knew he had been injured, he received an honorable discharge, but she was not prepared for the scars. They had kept in touch through webcam conversations once a week, even through his stay in the infirmary. His only visible injury was a burn across the right side of his face, but she knew he had worse injuries. Knowing and seeing were two completely different things, however, and Bonnie could not help but to cry out when Devon limped out of the terminal, leaning heavily on his uniformed escort.

His uniform was stretched and distorted over the full length cast encasing his right leg, and his right shoe had been replaced by a cast-boot to allow him to avoid sitting in the wheelchair being pushed by an airline attendant. His right arm lay hidden in a sling underneath his dress jacket while his left arm wrapped around a fellow Marine. Despite the obvious pain, Devon was smiling and joking with those surrounding him. The right side of his face was stiff and contorted with healing burns, and his brown wavy hair no longer peaked out from under his hat; Bonnie guessed it had been completely shaved to match what lay under the bandages creeping from beneath his hat.

When he spotted Bonnie by the door, holding his little girl in her arms, the laughter died in his throat. His escorts followed his gaze when he suddenly stopped. The airline attendant motioned Bonnie forward.

Time slowed to a crawl for Bonnie; the short distance between her and Devon seemed to take forever to cross. Somewhere beneath the distorted and crisp skin existed the man she knew, the man she married, the man she loved. The right side of his body was ruined, she reminded herself once again of what he had told her. It was hard to believe as she saw him standing in front of her. They stood staring at each other, the airport and escorts nonexistent. His homecoming is supposed to be a happy affair, Bonnie thought, but she was having a hard time smiling to prove it.

The couple stared at each other in silence, neither could figure out what to say. Eileen broke the silence with a coo, shifting on Bonnie's hip to reach out to Devon.

Sunny afternoons in the country were the essence of Heaven on Earth. For Bonnie Logue, the August afternoon was more so - her husband was finally returning from a long tour overseas in the war.

Bonnie lived in a small farmhouse on the edge of an equally small farming town. The home had been a wedding gift from Devon's parents, a home that had seen many Logue children through the generations. With Devon away, the open and empty house seemed like a massive mansion deserted in the middle of nowhere. Eileen helped fill the emptiness, but Bonnie missed the nightly conversations with her husband and the physical contact of another. The first few weeks after Eileen’s birth, the house seemed a prison for Bonnie, isolated from the world with very few visitors. The drawbacks to living in the country sometimes outweighed the gorgeous view and sense of freedom that came with the large plot of land.

With the house cleaned, Bonnie skipped to the wardrobe, anxious to find something to wear to impress Devon. The last time he had seen her, the day they parted, she had been two months pregnant, wearing her comfortable and baggy pajama pants and a sweatshirt, too ill from the morning sickness to dress up like the other Marine wives. Eighteen months later, she wanted his return to be more than just simply memorable.

What a homecoming Devon would have! For the first time, Eileen would see her father for real. Bonnie's heart skipped a beat at the thought of raising their precious daughter alone had something gone wrong. It was already hard enough trying to teach her that Daddy was not the computer screen, but a person beyond it on the other side of the webcam. At almost a year old, Eileen would be walking soon; another milestone Bonnie could not bear Devon missing.

Pushing the multitude of thoughts from her head, Bonnie shrugged into a pair of khakis and a fitted blouse. As she critiqued the outfit in front of the full-length mirror, Eileen cooed her approval from the playpen. Bonnie agreed with Eileen’s opinion, even though she felt she was projecting. Bonnie had been lucky - after giving birth, her body returned to her previous hourglass figure, and she even retained the larger breasts. The fitted blouse accentuated this new change as no other shirt in the wardrobe could.

The grandfather clock in the hallway chimed the hour away. Bonnie gasped - she had quite a drive ahead of her to the airport. She quickly checked Eileen's travel bag and locked up the house.
