Silver Strands

In the midst of a head of blackest black,
Silver strands proclaim their existence,
"Maturity and wisdom" they scream,
Advertising experience of years,
Calling my attention from across the room,
Into a trance I fall as I study the streaks,
Emotions stir deep within my soul,
Long buried memories resurface,
Sights and sounds of reality disappear,
Once more I am back in his arms,
Strong and sure and reassuring,
Teaching me what I never knew I missed,
Loving me deeper than I ever thought possible,
Bringing to me new heights of satisfaction;
A time gone by but never forgotten.
The mists of thought fade,
Swirling around a silhouetted figure,
The vast space of the room condenses,
Clearest green eyes lock on mine,
A knowing smile teases my heart,
An open invitation in any language,
A chance for more lessons learned,
At the hands of another skilled man,
So much promise to be had,
I succumb to the pull of silver strands.
